So you think you want to join the club.
I get asked this at every race.
Lets start by answering a few simple
questions;
How much does it Cost?
Answer - nothing

How do you become a member then because the price is right?
Answer - blood sweat and tears baby!
In all my years of running the club I have found that most people just
want a place to ride. This is the wrong place for you. It takes weeks of
hard work before and after the race. Most people think just showing
up at the races and helping is all that is required...WRONG!!!!
We expect you to be here to set up the race and tear down after the
race! Don't get me wrong, it can be allot of fun, but you have to have
the right attitude towards it.
Our members take vacation days from the regular job to come and
help set up the courses. Its a dedication that only a few people can
handle.

So I think I can do it. I love this stuff, so how can I show you I am
willing to work?
Answer - call me, I will let you know when we are working on the hill.
Come on down and prove yourself.

So I worked hard for you for several days now, Am I in the club Yet?
Answer - Not just yet! We will talk it over with all the members to see if
you really click with the group.
We are all the best of friends here at the club and lets face it, some
people just don't fit the mold.

Once I am excepted, am I in for good?
Answer - this is favorite question! Nearly half the people that get
excepted think, "cool I got my card and my key to the gate, now I can
come ride whenever I want and I am in" guess what, you still have
help out at every event! We have booted many people that thought
they were in for good and never came down to help anymore.

In closing, being a member at HHMC is a serious privilege!
99.9% of the people that try realize it is easier to just go somewhere
else and pay $10 to ride. Anyone is welcome to try, but be ready for
the challenges ahead, they are severe!
